In a significant step toward strengthening agricultural and trade cooperation between Syria and Italy, the first direct shipment of Italian ornamental trees and shrubs has arrived in Syria. This achievement follows a series of joint meetings and coordination between the Italian Embassy in Damascus, represented by His Excellency the Italian Ambassador Stefano Ravagnan, and the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture, headed by Mr. Mohammad Jannan, with the participation of the Head of the Nurseries Committee, Mr. Hassan Haliwa, and the Chamber's agricultural advisor in Italy, Mr. Taher Fattash. We also extend our deep gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Directorate of Plant Production (Agricultural Quarantine and Protection), and the Ports and Crossings Authority for their tremendous efforts in overcoming obstacles and facilitating the arrival of this shipment. This milestone opens new horizons for cooperation and utilizing agricultural and commercial expertise and relations between the two friendly nations. The arrival of this shipment does not merely represent an import transaction; rather, it marks the beginning of a new path that contributes to supporting the agricultural sector, developing nurseries, and reviving green spaces across Syria. Reconstruction is not confined to buildings and concrete blocks; it also encompasses restoring vegetation cover and the natural beauty affected by years of destruction, so our homeland can return brighter and more radiant. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this step and supported the efforts aimed at building a better future for Syria
