Strategic Partnership Between Damascus University and Chamber of Agriculture to Develop the Syrian Agricultural Sector

The Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture and the Faculty of Agriculture at Damascus University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation between the academic and field sectors within the agricultural domain.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the President of Damascus University, Dr. Mustafa Saim al-Dahr, and the Chairman of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture, Mr. Mohammad Ibrahim Jannan. Both parties agreed to establish a joint framework to execute projects and programs dedicated to developing the agricultural sector in Syria.

Both sides emphasized that this memorandum aligns with efforts to link scientific research to the practical needs of the agricultural sector, which serves as a fundamental pillar of the Syrian economy. Furthermore, it aims to provide training and qualification opportunities for Faculty of Agriculture students, while opening new career horizons for agricultural engineers.

The memorandum also seeks to facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the Chamber and the Faculty, and to support projects that contribute to increasing productivity and improving the quality of local agricultural products
