The Board of Directors of the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Agriculture held its regular monthly meeting, chaired by the Chamber's President, Mr. Mohammad Janan, and attended by the board members. The attendees discussed the development of the agricultural sector.Development of the Agricultural Sector: The attendees emphasized that the agricultural sector is the backbone of the national economy and stressed the necessity of working toward its development and resolving its obstacles.Developing Agricultural Exports: Ways to enhance agricultural exports were discussed, alongside establishing a new mechanism to organize the export process and overcome the challenges facing exporters.Contract Farming: The decree issued by the Minister of Agriculture regarding the establishment of a Contract Farming Registry was reviewed. The attendees expressed their gratitude to the Minister for issuing this significant decree, which regulates the contractual relationship between farmers, exporters, and marketing entities. This ensuring the rights of both parties and encourages the expansion of strategic crop cultivation.At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to follow up on the implementation of the recommendations with the relevant authorities
