Damascus Hosts the Launch of the First National Conference for Private Sector Dialogue 2026 to Discuss Economic Recovery Pathways

Damascus, the Syrian capital, witnessed the launch of the "First National Conference for Private Sector Dialogue 2026." The event is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and in partnership with the Government of Japan.

The conference serves as a national economic platform aiming to discuss and dismantle the operational and legal obstacles associated with doing business, while finding radical solutions for them. It focuses on discussing economic recovery priorities and mapping out pathways that enhance the private sector's role as a key partner in investments.

The opening session featured a prominent official and economic presence, led by the Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Agriculture, Mr. Mohammad Kashto, the Chairman of the Chamber of Agriculture in Damascus and its Countryside, Mr. Mohammad Janan, and the Chairman of the Aleppo Chamber of Agriculture, Mr. Rami Nwailo, alongside members of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Agriculture, economic figures, and experts.

The conference structures its agenda around achieving four main objectives aimed at shaping the future of the Syrian economy:

Consolidating the role of the private sector as a true partner in future investments.
Formulating a shared vision for the future of the Syrian economy with the participation of all parties.
Identifying economic priorities accurately and mapping clear pathways for recovery.
Building a competitive, productive, and sustainable economy that bridges the public and private sectors
