Fruit trees and suitable soil for planting them
Fruit Trees and Their Suitable Soil
Olives: Grown on hillsides and can be grown in dry, stony, and light-textured calcareous soils. They are affected by humidity and abundant water.
Citrus: Prefer deep, well-drained, light-textured soils. They do not tolerate lime, and are not suitable for acidic or saline soils.
Almonds: Prefer soils with a high lime content and can tolerate poor-quality and stony soils.
• Pears grafted onto quince thrive in fertile, well-drained soil.
• Pears grafted onto wild rootstock thrive in deep soil.
Quince: Suitable for sandy loamy soils, but not wet soils unless grafted onto a kelabi seed. It does not thrive in calcareous soils rich in gravel and stones.
Acadenia: Suitable for all soil types, except saline, sandy, and boggy soils.
