The Indian Embassy in Damascus, in cooperation with the Chamber of Agriculture of Damascus and its Countryside, organized a virtual meeting titled "India - Syria: Exploring Market Opportunities in Syria."The Syrian side was represented by Mr. Mohammad Ibrahim Jannan, Chairman of the Chamber of Agriculture of Damascus and Rural Damascus, with the participation of chamber board members, heads of specialized committees, and a number of Syrian businessmen interested in the agricultural and commercial sectors.The Indian side was represented by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), which included:Mr. Sagar Kumbhar - Chairman of APEDAMs. Abhishek Dev - President of APEDAMr. Shubham Arora - Vice Chairman of APEDADr. Tarun Bajaj - Senior Advisor at APEDAThis was in addition to a number of Indian exporters, and in the presence of Ms. Renu Yadav, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Damascus.Meeting Agenda:The session addressed ways to develop agricultural trade relations and mechanisms for exchanging expertise in the fields of food processing and agricultural products. The meeting also included a presentation on the reality of trade exchange between Syria and India, and an introduction of Indian exporters and Syrian importers.Participants emphasized the importance of this meeting as a constructive first step toward strengthening the economic partnership, opening new markets for Syrian and Indian agricultural products, and benefiting from the Indian experience in agricultural processing and exporting.The meeting concluded with a Q&A session that addressed mechanisms for future cooperation and overcoming the difficulties facing importers and exporters in both countries
