The specialized training course in meat inspection and health has components launched with the participation of 75 veterinarians, health inspectors, and workers in the sector. Held over two days, the course aims to enhance food safety, health security, and raise the efficiency of veterinary cadres.The event was opened by Dr. Youssef Kanaan, Head of the Veterinarians Syndicate branch in Damascus and its Countryside; Dr. Zaid Abu Assaf, Director of Agriculture for Damascus and its Countryside; Mr. Ghiath Bakour, Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus; and Mr. Mohammad Jannan, President of the Chamber of Agriculture for Damascus and its Countryside, as part of continuous cooperation among the relevant authorities.The first day focused on the theoretical aspect at the headquarters of the Directorate of Agriculture. The practical and applied aspect will take place on the ninth of this month at the Damascus slaughterhouse in the Al-Zablatani area to enable participants to engage in direct field application. This falls within the joint training plans to develop inspection mechanisms for slaughterhouses and markets, ensuring safe animal products reach citizens according to the highest health standards
