The Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture organized a workshop titled "Vegetable and Fruit Export between Reality and Ambition" at the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Adawi. The workshop was presented by Tariq Khader, a board member of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture, in the presence of several individuals interested in agricultural and economic affairs.The workshop shed light on the reality of vegetable and fruit exports in Syria, the most prominent challenges facing producers and exporters, and the available opportunities to develop this sector in a way that contributes to increasing agricultural exports and enhancing the presence of Syrian products in foreign markets.Khader emphasized that the Syrian agricultural sector possesses capabilities that qualify it to regain its position in regional and international markets. He pointed out that achieving this requires improving production quality, adhering to standard specifications, and developing sorting, packaging, and wrapping processes to raise the competitiveness of Syrian products.Furthermore, Khader highlighted the importance of integrating efforts between government entities and the private sector to address logistical and marketing challenges, and to open new markets for agricultural exports, which would positively reflect on farmers and the national economy
