Damascus - SANAToday, Thursday, the activities of the "Rural Women's Food and Handicraft Products" exhibition concluded. The event was organized by the Directorate of Agriculture of Damascus and its Countryside, in cooperation with the Chamber of Agriculture of Damascus and its Countryside, at the Chamber's headquarters in Damascus. With the participation of 27 productive women, the exhibition aimed to empower rural women and support productive families.A Joint InitiativeThe Chairman of the Chamber of Agriculture of Damascus and its Countryside, Mohammad Jannan, confirmed to SANA's reporter that the exhibition marked the first joint initiative between the Chamber and the Directorate of Agriculture to market the products of rural and artisanal women. He pointed out that the Chamber's role is to open direct marketing channels that ensure products travel directly from the producer to the consumer.Jannan explained that the exhibition witnessed a good turnout of visitors. He noted that the Chamber will organize a number of exhibitions and marketing events during the coming period at its headquarters and in various areas of rural Damascus, in support of rural women and productive families.From Producer to ConsumerUnder the slogan "From Producer to Consumer," Jannan stated that the Chamber has launched several initiatives since the beginning of the year to support local products, reduce middleman links, and lower costs between producers and consumers. This contributes to enhancing the marketing of Syrian agricultural and food products, including those intended for export.He indicated that the exhibition represents the first fruit of cooperation between the Damascus Chamber of Agriculture and the Directorate of Agriculture in the field of supporting rural women, expressing his hope for the continuation of these initiatives through establishing periodic exhibitions that contribute to expanding marketing opportunities and enhancing the role of women in rural development.The exhibition, which kicked off last Tuesday, featured 27 women who presented natural and processed food products, handicrafts, art pieces, and natural cosmetics, alongside traditional crafts that reflect the authenticity of Syrian heritage and highlight the artisanal and creative skills of women in the countryside
